Cookie policy

This Cookie Policy explains how HackerForce uses cookies and similar technologies to identify you and customize your training experience.

Last updated: June 8, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you load websites in your browser. They are widely used to make web applications run efficiently, store preferences, and provide analytical telemetry.

2. How We Use Cookies

HackerForce uses cookies for the following critical capabilities:

• Session Authentication: Identifying your logged-in session as you navigate between training briefs and active labs.

• Security: Verifying request authenticity to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) and secure sandbox terminals.

• Preferences: Remembering user choices, such as console color themes or layout preferences.

3. Categories of Cookies We Deploy

• Essential Cookies: Strictly required for the core operations of the training platform. Disabling these will cause training sandboxes and account access to fail.

• Functional Cookies: Retain configurations and options selected during your sessions. This includes remembering user-selected interface color themes.

• Analytics Telemetry: Anonymized tracking of navigation routes and lesson completion rates to help our developers improve training flows.

• hf-theme (Cookie): A functional/essential cookie used to store the operator's selected interface color theme (Tactical Red vs. Purple Metal). This ensures consistent server-side rendering, prevents visual flashing, and maintains visual choices across subpages. Duration: 1 year.

• hf-cookie-consent.v1 (Local Storage): A necessary token used to store your cookie consent preferences. Duration: Persistent.

4. Managing Your Preferences

Most web browsers allow you to control, block, or clear cookies through their preference panels. Note that restricting essential cookies will limit your ability to launch and use Armory environments.
